Program Analyst (Senior)

This project provides support to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) located in Crystal City (Arlington), VA. The JPO manages the development, test, production, fielding and sustainment of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter for the USAF, USMC, USN, and International Partner and FMS customer nations worldwide.

We are seeking a Program Analyst (Senior) to provide associated support for the F-35 Commander’s Action Group (CAG). In collaboration with the F-35 Program Management Offices, the CAG provides strategic advisement and product support to the Program’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The CAG coordinates product creation and delivery with the JPO’s various Program Management and Functional teams to include: Air Vehicle PMO, Propulsion PMO, Combat Data Systems PMO, Training and Support Systems PMO, Partners and Foreign Military Sales, Capability Verification, Product Support Manager and Legislative Affairs directorates. Additionally, the CAG facilitates the annual CEO Roundtable conference, Congressional Requests for Information (RFIs) and Reports, Media Inquiries, Program Executive Officer all-hands and staff awards.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform critical program management, technical, or business analysis of major DoD acquisition systems and provide recommendations to ensure program success
  • Provide program analysis support for all aspects of the program
  • Participate as a member of and/or supports the overall Program and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Collect, complete, organize and interpret technical data and financial information relating to aircraft acquisition and product programs
  • Track program/project status and schedules
  • Apply policies and procedures for financial planning



The ideal candidate must be highly organized and motivated and bring the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management; and a minimum of six (6) years out of 10 years of recent work experience related to analysis and planning
  • At least three (3) years in support of a Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP)
  • Familiarity with Service and OSD forms related to PPBS, Military Interdepartmental Procurement Requests, Work Requests, Requisitions, Contract Data Requirements List, and DD254 is required
  • Demonstrated experience in the program/project status, earned value management and schedules
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience dealing with DoD reporting tools and major reports

Educational and Experience

MS or MA degree from an accredited university in Business, Management or a degree relevant to the position.

Allowable Substitution: A BS or BA degree from an accredited university and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for an MS or MA degree.

Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements

Largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
