Equipment Acquisition and Export

Commercial and government organizations worldwide benefit from the value-added acquisition services that CTP offers.  We ensure successful trade operations on our clients’ behalf, through our full range of acquisition services including export authorization and license approval.  As a registered exporter and broker with the Department of State DDTC, our trade compliance staff is intimately familiar with all control lists, such as the Department of Commerce’s EAR and the Department of State’s ITAR.  To ensure compliance, CTP serves as the exporter of record to assist our foreign clients in acquiring defense and security solutions.  This includes sourcing and screening all parties in the supply chain, whether within the United States or a third-party foreign supplier.  In addition, CTP supports foreign government buyers with equipment, technology, and training when purchased under an approved U.S. Foreign Military Sales contract.

Security Cooperation and Security Assistance

To navigate the broad spectrum of FMS and pseudo FMS cases, our clients need clear and accurate guidance.  In cooperation with our partner Fairchild Fisk Giroux, CTP supports the Security Cooperation needs of the U.S. Government, U.S. defense and security contractors, and foreign government buyers.  Our expert staff has the technical mastery to guide all types of security cooperation and security assistance cases, with in-depth knowledge of the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM) and the “Green Book.”  Prior to joining CTP, our staff built real-world experience by serving in roles such as:

  • Security Cooperation Officers
  • Foreign Service Officers
  • Combatant Command staff
  • Senior Defense Attachés

Your firm’s ability to effectively deliver a product to market is critical, and CTP ensures your success by providing worldwide logistical support for trade endeavors, whether by land, sea or air. CTP’s logisticians have extensive background in the transport and handling of a vast array of commodities, from security and telecommunications equipment to K-9’s and military hardware. To exceed the requirements of each individual transaction, we work closely with our clients to develop a transportation plan. We recognize that seamless transport and delivery of goods hinges on effective communication between parties, so we provide all involved stakeholders with detailed reports and updates. Additionally, CTP provides warehousing, documentation and handling, export packing and crating, freight insurance, export compliance support, and customs clearances.

Trade Finance

Accurate financial packaging is key to any successful international transaction.  CTP understands that sound fiscal planning is integrally tied to your organization’s ability to enact a complex global exchange.  To address this need, we offer a range of trade financial assistance platforms and financing options to achieve your goals.  Working closely with the client, CTP staff regularly employs commercial Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantee’s, and SBA Export Loan Guarantee’s to bolster international sales efforts.  CTP also utilizes export credit agencies, such as the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), to ensure that our clients are able to manage the up-front costs of highly choreographed international trade transactions. We factor risk mitigation into every one of our trade strategies, because we anticipate the fiscal impact of losses and include trade and export credit insurance.
