“On-Call” Compliance Assistance
After CTP did several classification projects for a mid-size technology company, they came to the conclusion that it is easier to have CTP do their classification and maintain their Classification Matrix for them, adding updates as needed when they develop new products or capabilities.
A large U.S defense contractor wanted to design and deploy a customized international training program and deliver it annually at over forty overseas locations. Course content included specific company policies, relevant U.S. regulations, technical processes (control lists and commodity classification) and international best practices. CTP has extensive experience in such programs, having delivered over 1,000 training workshops to public and private experts in over sixty countries.
After a small communications business made a voluntary disclosure they asked CTP to provide ongoing compliance assistance, starting with the task of setting up their Export Management System (EMS). They purchased our Manual Maker & Templates, and asked CTP experts to help them customize it to their needs and provide basic Export Control Training to their staff.
After CTP helped them for years with jurisdiction and classification challenges, a large aviation company with foreign nationals on staff asked CTP to draft a Technology Control Plan (TCP). We first worked on site with their various experts to understand information sources/flow, and then helped them devise and document the appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard the company against inadvertent technology transfer.
A Fortune 50 company frequently asks CTP to help with extremely technical and highly sensitive classification challenges. Despite having several experts on staff, they seek corroborations and/or interpretations from CTP engineers, given our long experience working as licensing officers at Bureau of Industry & Security, including writing much of the technical language in the EAR, notably sections 3 and 6.
